Panama City, FL – Jackson County sex predator sting yields 45 arrests
MARIANNA, Florida (WMBB– A puncture operation led by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office resulted in 45 arrests and 114 felony charges.
“The first phase was an undercover operation focused on law enforcement officers posing as children online,” the deputies wrote in a press release. “The ‘infiltrated children’ clearly indicated their age and waited to be approached by a suspect. Once the suspect requested to meet in person, a location was agreed upon. When the suspects arrived, they were taken into custody by members of the US Marshal Task Force.

The second phase focused on compliance issues related to registered sex offenders and predators living in Jackson County, the deputies wrote. During the third phase, “MPs dealt with outstanding arrest warrants relating to sex crimes, crimes against children and the failure to register charges related to sex offenders.”

Matthew Jones, 37, of Panama City has been charged with traveling to meet a minor for sexual purposes
Keegan Andrew Schaal, 22, of Tallahassee, Fla., Has been charged with traveling to meet a minor for sexual purposes.
Jason Earl Kirkland, 43, of Cottonwood Alabama, has been charged with traveling to meet a minor for sexual purposes.
Christopher Blanchard, 36, of Marianna, is a registered sex offender and has been arrested on outstanding warrants for attempted murder, burglary, robbery, grand theft and grand auto theft.
